...ALL TOGETHER ENJOY THE JACUZZI IN THE PINTURICCHIO CHARMING APARTMENT
OF VILLA NUBA VACATION RENTAL IN PERUGIA, UMBRIA.

I spent a fantastic holiday in Italy with my family this August. We decided to stay in Perugia for five days because the position of the city is perfect to visit Tuscany and Umbria alike.
We had a great time at Villa Nuba where Giuseppe Nuzzaci our host was welcoming us. He is a friendly, kind and funny young Italian who gave us many ideas what to see and where to eat. Giuseppe tried the famous Hungarian hot paprika sausages with us on the first night, that made a perfect match with the Italian Grappa… The Pinturicchio Apartment was as charming as described at the villa’s website and we had a great time there. We were cokking yummy dinners in the fully equipped kitchen and even though the weather did not permit a swim in the nice pool, our children tried the jacuzzi one night… It was good all of us could check the most important e-mails in the internet room. We devoted our first day to Perugia, then visited Gubbio, Arezzo, Siena and Cortona. Our guide book was the favourite Hungarian book of the family, Antal Szerb's Journey by Moonlight. In the book written in the 30s. The childhood friend of the protagonist became a monk in Gubbio in the monastery up on the hill, attached to the Basilica of St. Ubaldo. Thanks to Giuseppe we took the Funivia (cable car) to go up to the basilica, from where we so the most amazing view of the city and the scenery around. After 35 years we also went back to Arezzo, a dear town for us. In 1972 our Hungarian choir participated in the Concorso Polifonico and won two prizes in Arezzo. It was an exceptional feeling to show the places where we had sang decades earlier to our children.
In Siena, we had great Italian coffee on the Campo and were lucky to see the marble mosaic floor of the Cathedral, since the floor is only uncovered for two months a year. On our way back from Siena we decided to go to Cortona for dinner. I had already visited this beautiful town before and took my family to the Pizzeria Fufluns where I had had good lunches and dinners 5 years ago. We not only had great bruschetti and tasteful salmone affumicato in salsa di pepe rosa, but also happened to watch the Italy-Hungary football match, sitting in the middle of a group of Italians… We were happy about the outcome… (Scusi!)
We went up to Venice for two days from Perugia to finish a wonderful holiday.
I can only promise to go back to Perugia again and surely stay at Villa Nuba again, because a lot of nearby towns remained unseen for us: Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Montepulciano etc. Since Lake Trasimeno is so close we would like to spend a day at the beach next time. Beautiful cities, nice villa, friendly host and the best pesto we ever tried, made by our host’s mother and given us by Giuseppe as a present when we said good-bye. We are thinking of our summer holiday a lot and can only recommend Villa Nuba to others. (But the Pinturicchio apartment is only free at times when we are not staying there….)

Dear Giuseppe
Just a quick note to thank you for making our stay at Villa Nuba so enjoyable. The apartment was absolutely perfect, and Bruno thinks the pool was one of the two coolest things about the holiday - the other being the Gubbio funivia. We'll be back, I'm sure. |

A LOVELY FAMILY AT VILLA NUBA IN PERUGIA
TAKE A PACEFUL RELAXATION AT THE SWIMMING POOL AREA .
Spent a perfect week at Villa Nuba in July when Italy was experiencing record temperatures and the pool was therefore an essential. Giuseppe made our holiday special, being the perfect Italian host. He greeted us on arrival, took us on a tour of the local supermarket, pizzeria and city walls and gave us some top tips about what to do/not to do. I was worried that with two teenage children (aged 16 and 14) there would not be enough to do but with the trip to the last night of the Umbrian Jazz Festival, the venicular cable cars in Gubbio, the boat trip across Lago Trasimeno, the day trip by train to Florence and of course the retail therapy in Perugia itself, they were well entertained and had a fabulous time.
The apartment was ideal with good facilities and very clean.
We would definitely recommend it to any one. |

Both my husband and I just wanted to report on our wonderful visit to Villa Nuba. We stayed in the Del Perugino apartment for the month of June and it really was a home away from home. The location was perfect - a countryside setting just a short walk from the centre of Perugia, and in close proximity to the many hill towns in Umbria. The apartments are really luxurious and every amenity has been thought of. Guiseppe and his parents are wonderful hosts and were very helpful in all aspects of our stay. We may be back!

TIM AND HIS FAMILY TOGETHER WITH GIUSEPPE AND MARIANNA
AT THE PRESTIGIOUS LUNGAROTTI CELLAR AND WINEYEARD IN TORGIANO
We only managed a trip here because my middle aged dad and his partner booked the villa with 2 bedrooms. What a massively fortunate event for us!! Perugia itself it's so amazingly beautiful and doesn't have that "over-touristy" feel of a lot of Italian cities (especially in Tuscany). If you want to immerse yourself in the beauty and the lifestyle then a stay in Giuseppe's family's villas is definitely the way to go. Extremely comfortable and clean. You can pick up some fresh Italian foods, and more importantly wine, from the local supermarket, and walk 'home' sit on the balcony eat some olives, cheese, bread and drink some wine while looking over the valley. The "yakuzi" (jacuzzi) is very relaxing for your "musckels" (as Giuseppe will tell you), and the pool is terribly inviting on a hot day. Giuseppe was an ever attentive host, and great fun!! We would highly recommend the stay to anyone.
Give Marianna our love too

Location: The villa is located in the countryside on a hill just outside Perugia so it is within walking distance of the old walled city. Because it is sitting on a hill the views are just fantastic and it is so quiet. It is a 1400's converted Farm House and the host family live in one separated side of the property and they have converted the remainder into three luxurious apartments, two larger ones and one studio apartment. There is a beautiful new swimming pool as well as a computer set up for guest use. Whilst we were there one of the other apartments were in use but you would never know that anyone was there since everything is planned so well. The biggest plus for us was the incredible hospitality shown by the family. On arrival we received a welcome basket, which contained all the necessary ingredients for our first mornings breakfast and a few other significant goodies. We were driven around locally so that we had an idea where everything deemed necessary was located and nothing was ever too much trouble. Giuseppe will also organize all different activities and be your guide to different places if you would like that. He helped me rent a car before I arrived as well as picking us up at the Railway Station so that I could follow him to the Villa.
Nearby Amenities: There was a supermarket type grocery store just a five minute walk from the house and in fact the host of the Villa took us on our first trip so that he could introduce us and point out all the local produce etc.
Garden: There was a nice private outdoor sitting area and there was a beautiful new enclosed pool which you share with the other two apartments. There was also one parking spot for each apartment all of which is behind locked gates.
Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas: The apartment was lavishly furnished. All the furniture was antique and in wonderful condition. The level of cleanliness was outstanding and there were lots of chairs in the living/dining room. The view from the living/dining room window was just outstanding and there was also an open fireplace for cooler weather.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms: The beds were very comfortable. We were four sisters so we utilized all the beds available. There was a very large antique bed in one bedroom. In another bedroom there were twin beds (which can be changed to another double) and then in the Living Room there was a pull down sofa which my sister said was incredibly comfortable. There was only one bathroom but even with four senior sisters we didn't have a problem. The bathroom was luxurious with a jacuzzi tub and it was spotlessly clean and all tiled. There was a hair dryer as well as a clothes washer with the dryer in a different location.
Kitchen: The kitchen was of equal quality. Stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, gas stove, lots of excellent pots and pans. It had a door which opened on to the garden at the back with an excellent screening system. They have truly thought of everything. We cooked full meals on two or three occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. They provided complete instructions for the use of all appliances in Italian, English and I believe German.
Problems or Bonuses: We encountered no problems at all and by far the greatest bonus was the hospitality shown by both Giuseppe and his parents. Nothing was too much trouble and his English was very good. If you didn't need any help you didn't even know they were there but any help you needed was offered. I just can't say enough good things about Villa Nuba - it was truly a Paradise.
Agency and Representatives (and price): I booked directly off the web so no Agency was involved. As stated above it was very valuable that Giuseppe spoke English and everything published on line on both their own website as well as the site where we found it listed was very accurate. We also felt the rent of Euro 1,180 per week for the apartment was an excellent value. I also found the booking procedure was very concise and the attention to detail was excellent. I received almost immediate replies to all my communications. As well they recommended a car rental company (at my request).
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? I would not hesitate to recommend Villa Nuba to anyone. One of my sisters is a Reservations Manager for the largest Helicopter Skiing company in the world who certainly understands "service" and she would highly recommend it. The only minor irritant we found was that since it is a gated estate we had to shuffle the key situation around. With four sisters who sometimes wanted to go their separate ways we had to ask for extra keys and jockey things around but other than that I can only offer high praise.
Things to do in this area: Around Perugia there were many really interesting towns including Assisi, Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and all these places have so many interesting museums, churches, walks, great shopping in Perugia itself and since it is a walled city all the streets were so interesting. Giuseppe will recommend restaurants in all the towns around and with the exception of one in Assisi they were all excellent. In Perugia the restaurant Il Cantinone was outstanding and the first time we went we arrived at closing time (2.30) for lunch but when we mentioned we were from Villa Nuba they insisted we come in and they stayed late and made us feel so welcome.

The apartment was charming and very comfortable. (I especially enjoyed the spa bath.) Your advice and directions were invaluable and I'm still savouring the memory of the restaurant in Gubbio that you recommended. Thank you for a great stay.

Dear Giuseppe,
My parents and I had a wonderful time in Perugia and particularly at Villa Nuba. We loved the Colle Giorgio II area and particularly the very comfortable Del Perugino apartment. It was very spacious, clean and everything worked perfectly. Giuseppe, you and your family were very welcoming and helpful. We thouroughly enjoyed the pesto sauce made by your mother and please give her a big thank you. The welcome basket was very useful for us, especially if one arrives on a Sunday when all the shops are closed. Having the computer room was definitely a plus. I give the whole villa an A+. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished at Villa Nuba.

Dear Giuseppe,
Thank you so much for your hospitality and making our stay at Villa Nuba so perfect. You have captured the ideal vacation experience. Not only is the Villa set in the most beautiful region in Italy, it has every modern convenience, is absolutely spotlessly brand new in it's restoration and yet retains the charm of centuries old architecture. Best of all is the host and Director. I will always remember your genuine helpfulness and kindness and hope to see you again soon. Don’t forget to call if you visit London. Thanks also to your mother whose elegance was evident in the feminine and practical additions to the apartment and to your wonderful father, Signore Nuzacci.
Auguri Sinceri

Myself and 3 sisters(seniors) just returned from 1 week at this apartment and it is hard to do justice to this place with words. The location was beautiful being situated on a hill overlooking all the beautiful Umbrian countryside but it is only 15 minutes walking distance from the centre of Perugia. The villa is a converted 1400's farmhouse and there are 3 separate apartments all luxuriously finished and furnished with wonderful antiques. It is spotlessly clean, has a wonderful new swimming pool and you have the use of a computer in a separate room. The thing that really impressed us was the hospitality of the host, Giuseppe and his lovely parents. Nothing was too much trouble and it absolutely made our trip. I would not hesitate to recommend del Pinturicchio to anyone - utterly fantastic. Ben Cotto Giuseppe.

In November 2005 my wife and I had the great pleasure of visiting Perugia and staying at the lovely Villa Nuba for the entire month. It was a fantastic experience. The accomodations were everything we could have hoped for. The beautiful apartment was comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed for an extended visit. We choose not to rent a car for our visit and soon found walking to the Centro (city center) or taking the convenient buses greatly enhanced our experience. We can not say enough good things about the hospitality of our hosts. In particular Guiseppi who was always available to answer questions, provide helpful insight, and assist us when local customs and language overwhelmed us. We especially appreciated his services as driver and tranlator for a successful excursion to find distant relatives in a remote village in the hills. Our wonderful experience of Perugia and the surrounding area was due in large part to our most enjoyable stay at Villa Nuba. We thank Guiseppi, his family and staff for making our vacation so special. Without hesitation we would recommend Villa Nuba to anyone visiting this lovely Umbrian city.

Hello Giuseppe, I am writing to say thankyou for the great time we had at Villa Nuba. We have told many of our friends about your apartments and maybe they will come and stay one day. Certainly our friends Peter and Kirsty (Peter has the leukemia) are keen to come possibly next year. They were very grateful that you were able to refund some of their deposit. All of us really enjoyed our stay in Perugia (except for the one way streets) and we also enjoyed Spoleto when we stayed there. Umbria is truly a beautiful part of Italy and I think by staying in your apartments, we were able to experience a little bit of the day to day italian life. I gather the weather in Italy has been very good for September, so you got your wish that September was better than August. I think you have improved your website since I last looked. It is looking good.
Best regards from Jenny, Ken, Nicole, Matt, Rosie

Dear Guiseppe,
We hope this letter find you and your family very well! We absolutely adored our stay in Del Perugina, Villa Nuba and miss it already! First of all, picking us up at the train station was so appreciated, as we had been traveling for 30 hours by then! Then, to find our bountiful basket of food waiting for us was wonderful, as all the stores were closed on Sunday! Your friendliness and your family's kindness was exceptional. Remembering our excursion in your car to the outside regions of Perugia city was one of the highlights of our holiday! We loved the elegance and charm of our apartment, which was equipped with everything one would need- truly "a home away from home"! The views of the surrounding countryside were spellbinding as were the gardens surrounding Villa Nuba. Thank you so much for the most wonderful stay in a beaurtiful area called Umbria! We can highly recommend Villa Nuba Apartments! We will be back! A special hello to your mother and father from us.Maybe we will see you in Australia someday!

Hello Giuseppe and family,
What can one say about our host - magnifico!!
Many thanks for the personal, whirlwind convertible tour of Perugia to help us get acquainted with your marvelous city upon our arrival. And the advice on towns to visit in Umbria. Our time spent at Villa Nuba was so relaxing and made easy - with a very welcome basket of delights, afternoons spent swimming at the pool and long chats about life over wine in the evenings.
It was our childrens's favourite spot in Italy and we hope one day to return (perhaps for the Jazz festival)
Grazie,
Julie, Tom, Hunter and Jake
